Tilton OT-Series cerametallic clutches are primarily designed for racing applications that require some clutch slippage (modulation). OT-Series cerametallic clutch feature 6-puck discs that utilize a unique blend of ceramic and metallic materials. Because the cerametallic discs are thicker than sintered metallic discs, they have a higher heat capacity through their increased mass. In addition, the engagement characteristics of cerametallic clutches are smoother than sintered metallic clutches. These features have made cerametallic clutches popular in applications such as rally, hill climb, club racing and street/strip applications. These clutches, though not cheap, are very driveable systems, which allow for more slipping and modulation than the sintered iron configurations. Clutches are fully rebuildable by Tilton if need be, for far less than the original cost.
Please Note: The 034Motorsport throw-out bearing adapter for use with these Tilton clutches and Audi 01E/01A style transmissions is available as an option below.
