Despite the size of these calipers, they weigh in significantly under the mass of the factory ones. The caliper, pads and bracket assembly together weigh 11.7lb (5.3kg) vs 18.9lb (8.6kg) for the stock Golf 7R \/ S3 equivalent. RacingLine’s kit offers you a choice of 355mm or 380mm fully-floating ‘triple-grove’ two-piece rotors giving vastly greater heat capacity, so reducing the effect of fade. These floating high cast carbon rotors are formed from a mixture of high-quality steel combined with carbon; giving a far higher friction coefficient compared to normal steel rotors. The fully floating mounting between rotor and top hat bell allows for thermal expansion and contraction to avoid cracking. The anti-rattle mounts keep it quiet. The 355mm rotor kit requires 18” rims or more for clearance; the 380mm must have a minimum of 19” wheels. Composite Ceramic Fast-Road Pads are included with the kit.
